Phytase for blepharospasm
In patients with blepharospasm, preliminary clinical research shows that taking zinc citrate 50 mg and phytase 3,000 units daily for four days prior to a botulinum toxin treatment increases the patient-reported duration of botulinum toxin effects by approximately 25%, compared with no improvement in patients taking zinc gluconate 10 mg or placebo. The efficacy of botulinum treatment was also improved.
