Theoretically, sage might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro evidence suggests that aqueous extracts of sage can inhibit CYP2C19. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Sage Overview
Sage (Salvia officinalis) is a perennial herb native to the Mediterranean region. It is a member of the mint family (Lamiaceae) and is widely cultivated for its fragrant leaves and its culinary uses.
Sage has a long history of use in traditional medicine and is purported to have a number of potential health benefits. It is thought to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties, and it is used to treat a variety of conditions, including digestive disorders, respiratory conditions, and skin problems. Sage is also sometimes used as a natural remedy for anxiety and stress.
Tapentadol Overview

Tapentadol tablets are used to treat moderate to severe acute pain (pain that begins suddenly, has a specific cause, and is expected to go away when the cause of the pain is healed). Tapentadol extended-release tablets are used to treat severe neuropathic pain (pain caused by nerve damage) in people who have diabetes. Tapentadol extended-release tablets are only used to treat people who are expected to need medication around-the-clock to relieve pain that cannot be controlled by the use of other pain medications. Tapentadol is in a class of medications called opiate (narcotic) analgesics. It works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain.
