What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: molybdenum, a trace mineral your body needs for certain enzyme functions. You're getting 400 micrograms per capsule.
The capsule also contains rice flour, hypromellose, maltodextrin, L-leucine, and silica as inactive ingredients—these are binders, flow agents, and the capsule material itself.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Molybdenum is likely effective for treating molybdenum deficiency, which is rare in people eating a typical diet. For acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer, the evidence we have isn't strong enough to say whether it works.
If you're considering this supplement for something other than deficiency, talk with us first—you may not need it.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Molybdenum at dietary levels (the amount in food) is well tolerated. At high doses from supplements, problems can happen and aren't usually necessary.
The upper safe limit is 2 mg per day. One case report describes severe effects—psychosis, seizures, brain damage—from very high supplemental doses (300–800 micrograms daily over 18 days), which is well above what this product provides.
People with molybdenum-containing stents should be aware of potential contact allergy risks, though this is uncommon. Amounts in food and prenatal vitamins are fine; avoid high-dose supplements without your doctor's approval.
