Protease breaks down proteins; lipase handles fats; lactase digests milk sugar (which is why it's effective for people with lactose intolerance); and amylase, glucoamylase, invertase, and diastase work on carbohydrates.
The blend called BioCore Kids Vegetarian Enzymes brings in additional enzyme support. The tablet also contains inactive ingredients — fructose, natural flavors, rice dextrin, citric acid, magnesium stearate, and beet powder — which are standard fillers and binders used to hold the tablet together and make it taste good.
