Choline is an essential nutrient that supports brain function and cell structure. The rest of the tablet is made up of inactive ingredients — binders, fillers, and a coating — that help hold the pill together and make it easier to swallow.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Inositol has the strongest evidence for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), metabolic syndrome, and preterm labor, where it's rated possibly effective. For anxiety, diabetic nerve damage, and depression, the evidence doesn't support its use.
Choline's evidence base is thinner — the data we have doesn't establish whether it helps with age-related memory loss, Alzheimer's disease, hay fever, or other conditions listed, and it appears possibly ineffective for athletic performance.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Inositol is generally well tolerated, though some people report mild digestive side effects like diarrhea, gas, and nausea. There's not enough reliable safety data for pregnancy, so use it only under a doctor's supervision if you're pregnant.
Choline is well tolerated at normal doses but can cause side effects at high intakes — above 3.5 grams daily, watch for fishy body odor, and at 9 grams or more, gastrointestinal upset like nausea and diarrhea. Choline is important during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but doses should be directed by your doctor rather than chosen on your own.

Theoretically, taking inositol with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Clinical research shows that inositol lowers blood glucose levels and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in patients with diabetes.
Choline
Atropine
Theoretically, choline might decrease the effects of atropine in the brain.
Animal research shows that administering choline one hour before administering atropine can attenuate atropine-induced decreases in brain levels of acetylcholine. Theoretically, concomitant use of choline and atropine may decrease the effects of atropine.
