DGST Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking DGST against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy
DGST is a dietary supplement by Loomis Enzymes with 9 active ingredients. Its ingredients are commonly taken for digestion and bloating, muscle soreness and exercise recovery, inflammation and swelling. We don’t currently list a known drug interaction for its mapped ingredients — but that doesn’t guarantee none exist, so always confirm with your pharmacist.
HelloPharmacist Scorecard of DGST by Loomis Enzymes
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
DGST contains nine active digestive enzymes designed to break down carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and fiber in food. Protease breaks down proteins; lipase handles fats; lactase breaks down milk sugar; amylase works on starches; and the others (cellulase, invertase, glucoamylase, hemicellulase, diastase) target various carbohydrates and plant fibers.
The product also contains three inactive ingredients: phytase, cellulose, and water.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Lactase in this product is rated effective for lactose intolerance — if you struggle to digest milk and dairy, it can help. For lipase and dyspepsia (indigestion), the evidence isn't strong enough yet to rate it reliably.
The same goes for lipase and inflammatory bowel disease. We don't hold effectiveness data for the other enzymes in the blend.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The three enzymes we have data for are generally well tolerated in most adults, though digestive upset or allergic reactions are possible — these are rare but worth knowing about. Protease and lipase should be avoided in pregnancy unless your doctor prescribes them, and both need medical guidance during breastfeeding because safety data is limited.
Lactase is rated likely safe in pregnancy, but still check with your doctor before regular use. One case of allergic reaction to lactase powder (from occupational exposure) and rare reports of allergic reactions to protease have been documented, mostly from airborne or skin exposure in industrial settings rather than from taking supplements by mouth.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check. That said, we hold no interaction data for amylase, cellulase, invertase, glucoamylase, hemicellulase, or the proprietary blend.
If you take any prescription drugs, verify your exact medications using the checker on this page.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
DGST is a reasonable choice if you're looking for digestive support, especially if you're lactose intolerant — lactase is proven to help there. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first; the data on these enzymes during pregnancy and nursing is limited or cautionary.
Run your medications through the checker to be safe, even though no interactions are documented for the ingredients we have on file.
