Algal oil is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA, which have been linked to a number of health benefits, including reduced inflammation and improved heart health. Algal oil dietary supplements are often marketed as a vegetarian source of omega-3 fatty acids (i.e., 'fish oil').
