Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product is a single-ingredient supplement: bovine colostrum, the nutrient-rich fluid that cows produce right after giving birth. We've included one inactive ingredient, methylcellulose, which is a binder.

Colostrum contains antibodies, proteins, and growth factors that some research suggests may help support the immune system and gut health.

Does it work?

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: Immune support and gut health.
  • We looked for evidence on: Exercise-induced respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS-related diarrhea, Influenza, Rotaviral diarrhea, Sepsis, Shigellosis — and 4 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Effective" for HIV/AIDS-related diarrhea (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Effective" for Exercise-induced respiratory infections, Rotaviral diarrhea.
  • Also on file: Bovine Colostrum is rated "Possibly Ineffective" for Short bowel syndrome, Sepsis.

The research on bovine colostrum shows it's possibly effective for rotaviral diarrhea and diarrhea linked to HIV/AIDS, and possibly effective for reducing exercise-induced respiratory infections — meaning there's some evidence, but it's not definitive. For necrotizing enterocolitis (a serious intestinal condition in infants), the evidence leans toward it being possibly ineffective.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish it for other uses you might've heard about.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Bovine colostrum is generally well tolerated in most adults. That said, a small number of people in clinical trials reported mild bloating, nausea, diarrhea, or an unsettled stomach at about the same rate as those taking a whey-based control.

One person with HIV and a related infection (cryptosporidiosis) experienced nausea and vomiting. There are also rare reports of elevated liver function tests and a drop in red blood cell levels in HIV patients treated for infectious diarrhea, though it's not clear colostrum caused these.

There isn't enough safety data on colostrum in pregnancy, so it's best to avoid it during pregnancy unless your doctor approves. During breastfeeding, safety isn't well studied, so talk with your provider before using it.

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.

Immuno Colostrum by Codeage: Common Questions

Does Immuno Colostrum by Codeage interact with any medications?
We do not currently list a known interaction for the mapped ingredients in Immuno Colostrum. This does not guarantee none exist, so confirm with your pharmacist.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Immuno Colostrum contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
What is bovine colostrum?
It's the nutrient-rich fluid that cows produce right after giving birth. It's packed with antibodies and proteins your immune system may use to fight infection.
Can I take this if I'm allergic to milk or dairy?
No. Colostrum is a dairy product and can trigger an allergic reaction if you have a milk allergy. Avoid it.
Will it help me avoid colds during heavy training?
There's some evidence it's possibly effective for exercise-induced respiratory infections — meaning you might get fewer or less severe upper respiratory infections during intense training — but the research isn't conclusive.
Is it safe during pregnancy?
There isn't enough safety data to know either way. Talk with your doctor before taking it if you're pregnant.
What side effects should I watch for?
Most people tolerate it well, but a few in trials reported mild bloating, nausea, diarrhea, or stomach upset. Stop and talk to us if anything concerns you.
