L-Glutathione Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking L-Glutathione against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has 1 active ingredient: Setria, a form of L-glutathione, an antioxidant your body makes naturally. The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide — which are binders and fillers.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence here is mixed. Glutathione is possibly effective for reducing nerve damage (neurotoxicity) caused by the chemotherapy drug cisplatin.
For nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), Alzheimer disease, athletic performance, and cataracts, the evidence isn't established in the data we hold.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Oral glutathione appears generally well tolerated in the short term, but we don't have solid long-term safety data on it. During pregnancy, the safety data advises against use unless your doctor advises otherwise.
The same caution applies to breastfeeding — there isn't enough reliable information, so avoidance is advised. One note: if you were to inhale nebulized glutathione (not the form in this capsule), it can narrow airways and cause shortness of breath or cough, especially in people with asthma.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the medications we checked. That said, always run your exact prescriptions through the tool on this page before adding any new supplement.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If your doctor has mentioned glutathione for cisplatin-induced nerve damage, this is worth discussing with them. For other uses, the evidence isn't clear yet.
Pregnant or breastfeeding? Talk to your pharmacist or doctor first — the safety data doesn't support use without their guidance.
