Lactase Drops Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Lactase Drops against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Lactase Drops by Seeking Health
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: lactase, an enzyme that breaks down lactose (milk sugar) so your body can digest it more easily. The drops are suspended in glycerin and purified water.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Lactase is effective for lactose intolerance — the difficulty digesting milk products. The evidence isn't established in our data for its use in prematurity or colic, so we can't say whether it helps with those.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactase is generally well tolerated when you use it as directed. A rare case of allergic reaction (contact dermatitis and allergic rhinitis) was reported in a worker exposed to powdered lactase, but that's occupational exposure to a different form — not the typical use of drops.
Since lactase works only in your gut and doesn't get absorbed into your bloodstream, systemic side effects are unlikely. The safety data advises discussing regular use during pregnancy with your doctor first, since data is limited.
If you're breastfeeding, there isn't enough information on file to know either way — ask your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for the ingredient in this product. Feel free to use the medication checker on this page to confirm your exact prescriptions, but there are no major drug-type warnings to flag upfront.
