Tinospora cordifolia has caused liver injury in rare cases, including autoimmune hepatitis and acute liver failure in 49 reported patients after weeks of use; some required transplant or died. Headache and nasal pain have been reported in trials.

Andrographis (Kalmegh) is generally well tolerated short-term but commonly causes headache, fatigue, rash, and itching—and rarely severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis. Picrorhiza may cause vomiting, rash, anorexia, diarrhea, itching, and dizziness.

Barberry's berberine content was linked in one case to hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia (a serious blood disorder) after two weeks of use. Radish in large amounts may irritate the stomach.

Until more is known, use caution when taking Indian gooseberry in combination with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.

It's rare but documented: 49 patients across case reports developed autoimmune or acute hepatitis after taking Tinospora cordifolia (sometimes in combinations) for a median of 42–90 days. Two required liver transplants and four died. Most people taking it do not report this, but it's a serious risk.
What are the most common side effects of Livtone?
Andrographis (Kalmegh), one of the main ingredients, commonly causes headache, fatigue, rash, and itching, especially at higher doses. Tinospora cordifolia may cause headache and nasal pain. Picrorhiza may cause vomiting, rash, diarrhea, or anorexia.
Can I take Livtone with my diabetes medication?
Multiple ingredients in Livtone lower blood sugar, so combining them with diabetes drugs raises the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Do not take this product without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist about dose adjustments.
Can I take Livtone with aspirin or a blood thinner like warfarin?
Several ingredients—Amla, Arjuna, and Barberry—may increase bleeding risk if combined with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Livtone alongside aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, or any other blood-thinning medication.
