The product also contains inactive ingredients—hypromellose (a capsule material), water, microcrystalline cellulose, and maltodextrin—that help deliver the enzymes.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactase is generally well tolerated. The lipase in this product is also generally well tolerated, though people with serious digestive conditions should use it only under medical guidance.
The proteases (protease 4.5, 6.0, and acid-stable protease 3.0) are generally well tolerated for most adults but may cause digestive upset or allergic reactions in some people. For pregnancy, lactase is likely safe; however, there isn't enough safety data for phytase or the proteases to recommend them during pregnancy unless your doctor advises otherwise.
For breastfeeding, lactase can be used, but check with your healthcare provider first about lipase, phytase, and the proteases, since data are limited.
