What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: molybdenum, an essential mineral your body needs in small amounts for enzyme function and normal metabolism. The liquid form delivers it in purified water with molybdenum chloride as the mineral source.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Molybdenum is likely effective for treating molybdenum deficiency, which is rare in people eating a varied diet. For acne, iron deficiency anemia, asthma, osteoporosis, and esophageal cancer, there isn't enough reliable evidence yet to say whether molybdenum supplementation helps.
If you're considering it for any of those conditions, talk it over with your doctor.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Molybdenum from food and standard prenatal vitamins is generally well tolerated and considered likely safe in pregnancy and probably safe during breastfeeding. High-dose supplements are another story — they're rarely necessary and can cause serious problems, including neurological damage and seizures if taken in large amounts.
One case report documented acute psychosis, hallucinations, and life-threatening seizures after very high supplemental doses. Stay within 2 mg per day, and if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or considering supplementation beyond dietary amounts, talk with your doctor first.
Meds to double-check
No known interactions
No interactions are documented in our data for molybdenum at the ingredients we could check. That said, confirm with your doctor or pharmacist that this supplement is right for your personal medical situation and any medications you take.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is for people who need to correct a molybdenum deficiency, which is uncommon in a normal diet. If you're considering it for another reason — acne, anemia, asthma, bone health, or cancer prevention — the evidence doesn't yet support those uses.
High doses can be harmful, so stick to food sources and standard prenatal vitamins unless your doctor advises otherwise. Check with your own doctor or pharmacist before starting, especially if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
