What’s inside

Low disclosure
Ingredient Transparency · database check
Low

Most active ingredients don't disclose an individual amount — you can't tell how much of each you're getting.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 0 of its 12 active ingredients.
  • “Multi-Collagen Peptide Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (1,300 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.
  • “Organ Complex Blend” is a proprietary blend — the label gives one combined amount (800 mg) without saying how much of each component you get.

This product contains 12 ingredients total, including several types of collagen peptides (from fish, beef, chicken, and egg shell membrane) plus organ tissue (beef liver, heart, pancreas, spleen, bone marrow, and bone cartilage) and supporting components like TendoGuard. The collagen peptides are the active ingredients; the organ tissues are traditional whole-food supplements sometimes called 'nose-to-tail' or 'glandular' ingredients.

The only inactive ingredient is cellulose, which is a binder.

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: healthy joints, hair, skin and nails.
  • We looked for evidence on: Joint pain, Osteoarthritis, Brittle nails, Aging skin, Wrinkled skin, Dry skin — and 2 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Collagen Peptides is rated "Possibly Effective" for Aging skin (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Collagen Peptides is rated "Possibly Effective" for Dry skin.
  • Also on file: Collagen Peptides is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Brittle nails, Osteoarthritis, Wrinkled skin, Joint pain.

We have effectiveness data for the collagen peptides in this blend. They're rated possibly effective for aging skin and dry skin, but possibly ineffective for muscle strength.

For acne and athletic performance, the evidence isn't established enough to rate. The product contains collagen from multiple sources (fish, beef, chicken), but the evidence applies to collagen peptides as a class — we don't have separate ratings for each animal source.

The organ tissues and other components don't have effectiveness ratings in our data.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 2 of the 2 matched ingredients.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Collagen peptides are generally well tolerated as a dietary protein. Orally, they may cause nausea, dyspepsia (indigestion), diarrhea, and flatulence, but these side effects are rare.

The product hasn't been well studied in pregnancy — talk with your doctor before using if you're pregnant. Little safety data exists during breastfeeding, so caution is advised; check with your pharmacist or doctor.

We don't have safety data on file for the organ tissues or other ingredients in the blend.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Liver Extract.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Minor.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 3 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

No interactions are documented in our data for the two collagen peptide ingredients we were able to check. However, we couldn't check the other ten ingredients (the organ tissues, hydrolyzed collagens, and TendoGuard), so run your exact medications through the tool below to be sure.

Beef Liver2 drug types · 3 drugs

Iron

Liver extract can contain heme iron. Taking liver extract with iron-containing medications or supplements may increase total iron intake and could increase the risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects or excessive iron accumulation. The risk is greater with high doses, prolonged use, or in individuals with hemochromatosis or another iron-overload disorder. Review the iron content of the liver extract and the total elemental iron dose. Avoid unnecessary duplicate iron supplementation and consider monitoring ferritin and transferrin saturation when clinically appropriate.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Liver extract products may contain small and variable amounts of vitamin K. Theoretically, starting, stopping, or substantially changing the amount of liver extract used could reduce the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and lower the INR. However, this interaction has not been directly studied or reported in humans, and the vitamin K content of liver extract products is generally not standardized. Consider monitoring the INR after a meaningful change in liver extract use.
