The softgel capsule also contains inactive ingredients — gelatin, medium chain triglycerides, vegetable glycerin, and minor additives — that serve as the capsule shell and delivery base.

Not established
The evidence we hold shows phosphatidylcholine is possibly effective for ulcerative colitis. For Alzheimer disease, anxiety, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and alcohol-related liver disease, the evidence isn't established enough to rate it — meaning studies either haven't been done, haven't been robust enough, or results have been unclear.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Phosphatidylcholine is generally well tolerated by mouth. Some people report altered taste, bloating, diarrhea, itching, nausea, sweating, or vomiting — especially at higher doses.
Very large amounts (30 grams a day) can trigger digestive upset and diarrhea, though smaller doses have also caused bloating and nausea in some individuals. Choline, a component of phosphatidylcholine, is needed during pregnancy, but supplement safety beyond what you get from food is not well studied.
During breastfeeding, there isn't enough reliable data on supplement use. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
