Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: rice bran extract, a concentrated form of the nutrient-rich outer layer of rice grain. Rice bran is a whole-food source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds.
The capsule itself is made from vegetable cellulose, a plant-based shell material.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Rice bran extract is possibly effective for helping with dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol and fat levels in the blood). The evidence isn't strong, but it's there.
For colorectal cancer prevention, it's possibly ineffective. For alopecia areata (patchy hair loss), there isn't enough reliable evidence to say whether it works or not.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Rice bran is generally well tolerated when taken orally. However, increasing your intake of bran — especially when you first start — can cause temporary digestive effects like abdominal discomfort, bloating, gas, and changes in bowel habits.
These typically settle down after a few weeks. Allergic reactions are rare but possible; they can include itching, hives, swelling, wheezing, and cough.
A very small number of people have had severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to rice bran. If you're allergic to rice or have had allergic reactions to grains, talk to your pharmacist before starting.
The safety data on concentrated supplement doses is limited, so discuss this product with your doctor if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any health concerns.

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking at rice bran extract for cholesterol support, it's a reasonably well-tolerated option worth discussing with your doctor — the evidence is modest but present. Start low to give your digestive system time to adjust.
If you have a known grain or rice allergy, skip it. Always run your current medications through the checker on this page before you start.
