Bovine Colostrum is generally well tolerated in most adults, but if you have a milk or dairy allergy, you should avoid it. The safety data during pregnancy isn't strong enough to say it's safe, so it's best to avoid it unless your doctor approves.
During breastfeeding, safety hasn't been well studied — use caution and check with your provider. In clinical trials, a small number of patients reported mild bloating, nausea, diarrhea, and stomach upset at about the same rate as those taking a whey-based control.
One person with HIV-related cryptosporidiosis had nausea and vomiting. Rarely, it's been linked to elevated liver function tests and a drop in blood cell count in HIV patients being treated for infectious diarrhea.

Newborns who breastfeed get a head start in immunity through the PRP’s and other immune factors they get from their mother’s Colostrum. This is often called "Passive Immunity."
PRPs are extracted from bovine colostrum – dairy cows are the most abundant source of raw colostrum available today. The PRPs in bovine colostrum are the same as all other mammals and can be used as a health supplement for all other mammal species, including humans.
