What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: pumpkin powder. It's simply dehydrated and ground pumpkin with no added fillers or inactive ingredients.
You're getting straight pumpkin, which is a whole food.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence supports pumpkin as possibly effective for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — enlarged prostate in men. For other uses — including hair loss, bladder pain (interstitial cystitis), parasitic infection, and urinary tract infections — the data we have isn't strong enough to say whether it works.
That doesn't mean it's ineffective; it means more research is needed.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Pumpkin as food is generally well tolerated. When people do have side effects from pumpkin products, they're usually mild: stomach discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.
Anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) is rare but has been reported. There are also two case reports of temporary hair loss after eating bitter-tasting pumpkin or squash with high levels of a compound called cucurbitacin, which is found in wild pumpkins — culinary pumpkins are bred to be low in this compound.
For concentrated pumpkin supplements, safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; pumpkin as food is fine, but talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether a supplement is right for you.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check with your pharmacist if you take lithium. This is the only medication interaction our data documents for pumpkin powder.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're looking to support prostate health, pumpkin powder is a simple, whole-food option with decent evidence behind it. The big thing to check: if you take lithium, run it by your pharmacist first — pumpkin may raise your lithium level.
Otherwise, it's mild and unlikely to cause problems in most people.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Pumpkin Powder by BulkSupplements.com has one documented interaction we need to flag.
If you take lithium for bipolar disorder or another condition, pumpkin may reduce how your kidneys clear it from your body, which could raise lithium levels to unsafe ranges. Pumpkin has mild diuretic properties (it encourages urine flow), and theoretically this could affect lithium clearance.
Your doctor may need to adjust your lithium dose if you start using pumpkin powder regularly.
