Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: 500 mg of raspberry ketones per capsule. Raspberry ketones are compounds found naturally in raspberries and are marketed for weight management and hair loss, though the evidence for either use is limited.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients — gelatin, vegetable cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, and vegetable magnesium stearate — which are fillers, binders, and capsule materials with no therapeutic effect.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for raspberry ketones is insufficient to rate. The product is marketed for obesity and alopecia areata (a type of hair loss), but we don't have enough reliable data to say whether it actually works for either condition.
If you're considering this supplement for one of these reasons, it's worth discussing what the current evidence shows with your doctor or pharmacist.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Raspberry ketones are used safely in foods, but safety data for the high supplement doses in this product is very limited in humans. Side effects tied to its stimulant-like structure — heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, and in rare cases serious heart rhythm problems — have been reported.
A small number of users also experienced sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness. This product should be avoided during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety information.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check these medication types before taking this product, worst severity first. Stimulant drugs (like amphetamines, decongestants, or other stimulant medications) carry a Moderate risk of increased cardiovascular side effects.
Warfarin or other blood thinners may require dose adjustment, also Moderate severity. Your own healthcare provider can tell you whether this product is safe to combine with your prescriptions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Raspberry Ketones 500 mg may appeal to someone looking to support weight management or hair health, but the evidence for either use is not yet established. The bigger concern is safety — especially if you take stimulant drugs or warfarin — and the limited data on high-dose use in humans.
Check your medications with the tool on this page, and talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist before you start.

Raspberry Ketones 500 mg by Vitamin World Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Vitamin World Raspberry Ketones 500 mg has documented interactions with stimulant drugs and warfarin, a blood thinner (anticoagulant).
The most serious concern is with stimulant medications — raspberry ketone's chemical structure resembles synephrine, a known stimulant, and theoretically may increase the risk of heart-related side effects like palpitations, elevated blood pressure, or dangerous heart rhythms.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Warfarin users should also be aware: in one case report, a patient needed a higher warfarin dose while taking this supplement because raspberry ketone appeared to reduce how long warfarin stayed active in the body. This means your blood-thinning effect could drop if you combine them.
Although not well studied in humans, stimulant-related side effects have been reported after taking raspberry ketone — including heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, and even serious arrhythmias in rare cases. A small number of users also reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness.
Before starting this product, check your exact medications with the search tool on this page, especially if you take any stimulant drugs or warfarin. Altogether, these interactions span 174 individual medications.

For each ingredient in Raspberry Ketones 500 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Raspberry Ketones
Stimulant Drugs
Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.
