Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

NutraKey Raspberry Ketones contains one active ingredient: raspberry ketone, a compound found naturally in raspberries. The capsule also holds two inactive ingredients — gelatin and rice flour — which are binders and fillers.

Raspberry ketone is the substance that gives raspberries their aroma. In supplement form, it's concentrated far beyond what you'd get from eating the fruit.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Raspberry Ketone's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: healthy weight loss and fat burning.
  • We looked for evidence on: Obesity, Weight management, Metabolic health.
  • The closest evidence on file: Raspberry Ketone is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Obesity (Natural Medicines).

The evidence for raspberry ketone is limited. Our data shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate it for alopecia areata (a hair-loss condition) or obesity.

While it's been studied in research settings, we don't have strong human trial data backing its use for these conditions yet.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Raspberry ketone is used in small amounts in foods and is generally well tolerated at those levels. However, safety data for the high doses in supplements is very limited.

Case reports describe heart palpitations, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), elevated blood pressure, and in one case, a serious arrhythmia that required treatment. A small number of people have reported sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness after taking it.

The safety data advises against use during pregnancy and breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know whether it's safe at those times. If you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.

Moderate interaction found
Known Interaction Concern · database check
Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Raspberry Ketone.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 174 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you use stimulant drugs (like decongestants, energy aids, or ADHD medications) — raspberry ketone may increase your risk of heart problems. Also double-check if you take warfarin (Coumadin) or other blood thinners, because you may need a dose adjustment to stay at a safe clotting level.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

Raspberry Ketones may be worth considering if you're interested in its potential effects on hair loss or weight, but the evidence for those uses is thin. The bigger concern is its interaction with heart medications and blood thinners — if you take any stimulants or warfarin, you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

And if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, skip it until you've talked with your healthcare provider.

Stimulant Drugs

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects with stimulant drugs.
Structurally, raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, a known stimulant agent. Heart palpitations, elevated blood pressure, coronary vasospasm, pulseless electrical activity arrest, and resistant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia have been reported in patients taking raspberry ketone.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Warfarin (Coumadin)

Theoretically, raspberry ketone might increase warfarin dose requirements.
In one case report, a patient taking warfarin 55 mg per week had a decrease in INR over a period of one month while taking raspberry ketone 250 mg daily. A warfarin dose increase to 70 mg per week was necessary to maintain a therapeutic INR while taking raspberry ketone. The mechanism for this potential interaction is not known.

Raspberry Ketones by NutraKey: Common Questions

Does Raspberry Ketones by NutraKey interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Raspberry Ketones has a known interaction with 174 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Raspberry Ketones contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I have heart problems or high blood pressure?
Raspberry ketone can raise blood pressure and cause heart palpitations because it's structurally similar to stimulant drugs. If you have any heart condition or high blood pressure, talk with your doctor before starting it.
Is this safe to take while I'm on warfarin?
Not without checking first. Raspberry ketone can reduce how well warfarin works, which means your blood thinner may become less effective. If you're on warfarin, your doctor or pharmacist needs to know about this supplement and may need to adjust your dose.
What side effects should I watch for?
Case reports mention heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, elevated blood pressure, and serious heart rhythm problems. Sweating, diarrhea, and shakiness have also been reported. Because human safety data is limited, stop and call your doctor or pharmacist if you feel chest pain, shortness of breath, or a racing or irregular heartbeat.
Does raspberry ketone actually help with weight loss or hair loss?
We don't have reliable evidence that it works for either one. The data we hold rates both uses as insufficient, meaning the research isn't strong enough to say whether it helps.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
The safety data advises against it. There isn't enough information to know whether it's safe for you or your baby at those times — talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
How much raspberry ketone is in each capsule?
The product facts don't specify the dose per capsule. Check the label on the bottle or contact the manufacturer for that information.
