What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: resveratrol 100 mg per softgel. Resveratrol is a polyphenol compound found in grapes, berries, and red wine.
The softgel capsule also contains inactive ingredients (gelatin, soybean oil, glycerin, silica, soy lecithin, turmeric extract, and beeswax) that serve as the capsule shell and carrier.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence on resveratrol is mixed. It's rated possibly effective for obesity and allergic rhinitis (hay fever) based on available research.
However, it's rated possibly ineffective for cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia), meaning the evidence doesn't support a benefit for those conditions. The research on this supplement at lower doses like 100 mg is still developing.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Resveratrol is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses. At higher doses, the main concern is digestive upset — diarrhea, gastrointestinal discomfort, and loose stools are the most common side effects when taken by mouth.
A small number of people on dialysis experienced headache, fatigue, and memory loss, though a direct cause wasn't proven. One case of a skin rash was reported in a trial and resolved after stopping the supplement.
During pregnancy, there isn't enough safety information — concentrated resveratrol supplements should be avoided. The same applies to breastfeeding: there isn't enough data to know whether it's safe, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, double-check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs like warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel (Plavix) — resveratrol may increase bleeding risk. Also flag any medications metabolized by liver enzymes CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, or CYP2E1, since resveratrol may raise their levels.
Use the interaction checker on this page with your full medication list.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Resveratrol may help with weight management or seasonal allergies based on current research, but it's not proven for heart health or cholesterol. If you take blood thinners or medications your liver processes heavily, check with your pharmacist first — this supplement can interact with a large number of drugs.
It's generally well tolerated, though higher doses may cause digestive issues.

Resveratrol 100 mg by Puritan's Pride Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Resveratrol 100 mg by Puritan's Pride does interact with several types of medications.
The most serious documented concern is with blood thinners and antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or aspirin). Resveratrol appears to have blood-thinning effects itself, so combining it with these medications may increase your risk of bleeding.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Resveratrol also theoretically affects how your liver breaks down certain drugs. In vitro lab research shows it can inhibit multiple liver enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP1A2, CYP3A4, and CYP2E1), which might raise levels of medications that depend on those pathways.
One study did show a 54% increase in a muscle relaxant (chlorzoxazone) when taken with 500 mg daily of resveratrol — but this dose is much higher than what's in this product. Clinical testing at 3000 mg daily found no dose adjustment needed for CYP3A4 substrates, so effects at 100 mg are uncertain.
These are all Moderate severity interactions.
Altogether, these interactions span 812 individual medications. Before you start this supplement, check your exact prescriptions with the tool on this page.

For each ingredient in Resveratrol 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Resveratrol
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Resveratrol may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Resveratrol seems to have antiplatelet effects.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP1A2 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
Resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2E1.
In vitro research suggests that resveratrol inhibits CYP2E1 isoenzyme. Also, a pharmacokinetic study shows that taking resveratrol 500 mg daily for 10 days prior to taking a single dose of chlorzoxazone 250 mg increases the maximum concentration of chlorzoxazone by about 54%, the area under the curve of chlorzoxazone by about 72%, and the half-life of chlorzoxazone by about 35%. Chlorzoxazone is used as a probe drug for CYP2E1.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, resveratrol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that resveratrol can inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. However, clinical research shows that taking resveratrol 3000 mg daily for 8 weeks does not necessitate dose adjustments to medications metabolized by CYP3A4.
