Similase Lipo contains seven active digestive enzymes designed to help break down different food components. Amylase, phytase, and cellulase help with carbohydrates and fiber; protease breaks down protein; lipase handles fats; and lactase and sucrase aid with milk sugar and table sugar respectively.
The capsule also contains inactive ingredients—hypromellose, cellulose, and ascorbyl palmitate—which serve as binders and stabilizers.

Strong evidence
The evidence for most of these enzymes is limited. Lactase is rated effective for lactose intolerance—that one's well established.
For the others—phytase, protease, lipase, and cellulase—the evidence we hold is rated insufficient, meaning we don't have enough reliable data to say whether they work for conditions like inflammatory bowel disease, dyspepsia, or other digestive issues. How safe is it?

Phytase, protease, lipase, and lactase are generally well tolerated when taken by mouth, but there are some caveats. Phytase and protease have rare reports of allergic reactions—including occupational asthma and respiratory sensitivity in workers exposed to airborne powder forms.
Lipase is generally safe, though it should be used cautiously in people with serious digestive conditions and only under medical guidance. Lactase, the most studied of the group, has one reported case of allergic contact dermatitis.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, data are limited across all four of these enzymes; talk with your doctor before regular use.
