Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: sulbutiamine, a form of thiamine (vitamin B1). It's used in supplements to address fatigue and nerve-related discomfort.

Does it work?

Not established
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not established

The graded evidence we hold for these ingredients covers different conditions than the ones this product is marketed for, so there's no established rating for its stated use — see Sulbutiamine's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: fatigue and energy support.
  • We looked for evidence on: Fatigue, Multiple sclerosis-related fatigue, low energy, chronic fatigue, energy metabolism.
  • The closest evidence on file: Sulbutiamine is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Fatigue (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Sulbutiamine is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Multiple sclerosis-related fatigue.

The evidence for sulbutiamine isn't established in our data. Studies on its use for diabetic nerve pain, fatigue, and multiple sclerosis-related fatigue all show insufficient reliable evidence to rate whether it works.

That doesn't mean it doesn't — it means the research so far isn't solid enough to say either way.

How safe is it?

Some data gaps
Safety Information · database check
Some gaps

Safety data exists for these ingredients, but with some important gaps.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 0 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Sulbutiamine appears to be generally well tolerated in the short term; 600 mg was used safely for up to 4 weeks in limited studies. Long-term safety hasn't been studied enough to know.

In small trial populations, a handful of patients reported headache, insomnia, tremor, drowsiness, and nausea when sulbutiamine was combined with other medications, but these were rare individual cases. The safety data we have doesn't support use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding — talk to your doctor or pharmacist if either applies to you.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. No medication interactions are currently documented, and some safety-information gaps remain.

Sulbutiamine might appeal to someone looking to address fatigue or nerve pain, but the evidence for whether it works isn't clear yet. The short-term safety profile looks reasonable, but long-term data is sparse.

If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or take any medications, check in with your pharmacist first.
