What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: VitaCherry HiActives Whole Tart Cherry—a concentrated extract of the whole tart cherry fruit. The inactive ingredients are modified cellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide, which help form and stabilize the capsule.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Tart cherry is possibly effective for athletic performance. For other uses listed—ADHD, cognitive function, exercise-induced muscle soreness, exercise-induced respiratory infections, and fibromyalgia—the evidence isn't reliable enough to rate, so we can't say whether it works for those.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tart cherry from whole fruit is generally well tolerated, but concentrated supplements like this one are less studied, so use caution. The most common side effects reported with concentrated products are abdominal pain, loose stools, and general gastrointestinal upset.
One case of a possible skin reaction from a cherry allergy has been reported. Since safety data on supplement doses is limited, it's wise to start with a low dose and watch how you feel.
Tart cherry is rated likely safe in pregnancy and lactation, but because concentrated supplements lack safety data, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
