Similase is a digestive enzyme blend with seven active ingredients. It contains amylase (which breaks down starch), phytase, protease (which breaks down protein), lipase (which breaks down fat), sucrase, lactase (which breaks down milk sugar), and cellulase, along with microbial enzymes.
These work together to help break down different components of food during digestion. The capsule itself is plant-derived, and the inactive ingredients are cellulose, and magnesium stearate.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactase is generally well tolerated when used as directed. Protease and lipase are generally well tolerated in adults, though protease may occasionally cause digestive upset or allergic reactions, and lipase should be used only under medical guidance if you have serious digestive conditions.
Phytase is considered low-risk in foods, but supplement safety data in humans are limited. Occupational exposure to phytase powder has been linked to allergic asthma and a lung inflammation called hypersensitivity pneumonitis in some workers, and protease and lactase have rarely caused allergic reactions in occupational settings, but typical supplement use at the doses in this product is very different from industrial exposure.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding: lactase is likely safe in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Protease should be avoided in pregnancy unless prescribed, and safety during breastfeeding has not been well studied.
