Read the full MedlinePlus article ↗This is an over-the-counter topical ointment marketed under FDA's OTC monograph guidelines for first-aid antibiotic products. It combines three antibacterial ingredients (bacitracin zinc, polymyxin B sulfate, and neomycin sulfate) that are typically used to help reduce the risk of infection in minor cuts, scrapes, and wounds. The ointment also contains pramoxine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic commonly included in such products to temporarily relieve minor pain and itching associated with minor skin injuries.
