Clinical
Pyostat is an unapproved homeopathic liquid taken by mouth that contains multiple plant, animal, and mineral ingredients traditionally used in homeopathic practice. The formula includes echinacea and baptisia, which appear in herbal traditions for immune support, alongside homeopathic preparations of venoms (from rattlesnake and snake species), plant alkaloids (from belladonna and hyoscyamus), and substances like arsenic and activated charcoal. Homeopathic products are marketed based on homeopathic tradition rather than clinical evidence, and the FDA does not evaluate them for safety or effectiveness in the way it does other drugs.
