Clinical
Desitin Maximum Strength is a zinc oxide paste applied directly to the skin to help protect and soothe diaper rash. Zinc oxide functions as a barrier agent and has mild antiseptic properties commonly used in over-the-counter products designed to protect skin from moisture and irritation. This product is marketed under the FDA's OTC monograph rules for diaper rash treatments. The paste form allows it to create a protective layer on affected skin areas.
