💊 About Atropine DRUG GUIDE

Injectable atropine products are used in emergency and hospital settings to block dangerous nerve signals.

Uses include treating poisoning by organophosphorus nerve agents, carbamate or muscarinic mushroom poisoning, controlling dangerously slow heart rate (symptomatic bradycardia), managing cardiac arrest, and reducing excess saliva or airway secretions before or during surgery.

Some injectable formulations are also used for gastrointestinal spasms, urinary tract disorders, parkinsonism-related symptoms, and relaxing the colon during certain X-ray procedures.Atropine sulfate and Isopto Atropine eye drops, and Atropine Sulfate eye ointment, are used in adults and children 3 months and older to dilate the pupil (mydriasis), temporarily paralyze the eye's focusing muscle (cycloplegia), and to help treat lazy eye (amblyopia) by penalizing the stronger eye.

The ATROPEN Auto-Injector is specifically indicated for treatment of poisoning by organophosphorus nerve agents or carbamate insecticides in both adults and children.
