Can you take Hyland's homeopathic with ibuprofen?
Jul 29, 2022- Most Hyland's Naturals products are homeopathic and contain very little active ingredient, so they don't interact with ibuprofen or Motrin. You can safely use ibuprofen together with Hyland's products based on available information. If you're concerned about a specific Hyland's product, you can check with your pharmacist or doctor for personalized advice.
Answer
Hello and thank you for reaching out to us!
You don't mention a specific Hyland's Naturals product in your question, and there are a number of them available for both kids and adults.
Popular Hyland's Naturals products for children include:
- Hyland's Cough and Cold
- Hyland's Pain Relief
- Hyland's Stuffy Nose and Sinus
- Hyland's Teething
Adult products include:
- Hyland's Pain Relief
- Hyland's Leg Pain
- Hyland's Stress and Sleep
The vast majority of Hyland's Naturals products are homeopathic, and don't have any known drug interactions with pharmaceuticals, including ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is the drug contained in the brand name products Motrin and Advil.
Hyland's does make some non-homeopathic products (e.g.elderberry gummies, apple cider vinegar gummies, etc.) but I don't see anything that they manufacture that would be a problem to take with ibuprofen.
Homeopathic Drug Interactions?
I mentioned that Hyland's products are, for the most part, homeopathic.
Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice that follows the theory that 'like cures like' and that symptoms of a condition can be treated by using very small amounts of substances that would cause the same symptoms when used in a larger dose. For example, a homeopathic product intended to help treat a running nose may contain very small amounts of an ingredient that, in larger amounts, would cause a running nose, like onion extract (allium cepa).
While not true for every product on the market, by and large, homeopathic preparations contain little to no active ingredients. Therefore, they generally are very well tolerated and have few, if any, reported drug interactions.
Reviewing the product offerings from Hyland's Naturals, I could find no product that interacts with ibuprofen.
Final Words
Thanks again for your question! You can feel safe combining ibuprofen and whichever Hyland's product you are interested in using.
