Answer
There is no known drug interaction between Robaxin (methocarbamol) and a Medrol Dose Pack (methylprednisolone). They are considered safe to take together.
In fact, it's not uncommon for these two drugs to be prescribed together for short-term use, as there are some conditions where both drugs can provide benefits.
For example, both are sometimes used for the temporary relief of pain and inflammation from acute musculoskeletal injuries.
Medrol (methylprednisolone) is a steroid, technically a glucocorticoid, that is used for a number of different indications and is effective in reducing inflammation, such as after an injury.
Robaxin (methocarbamol) is a muscle relaxant with both sedative and musculoskeletal relaxant properties.
If these drugs are used together, as mentioned, it is generally only for a short period of time.
About Robaxin
Methocarbamol is used to relax muscles and relieve pain and discomfort caused by strains, sprains, and other muscle injuries. It is in a class of medications called muscle relaxants and works by slowing activity in the nervous system to allow the body to relax.
About Medrol Dose Pack
Methylprednisolone is a corticosteroid that relieves inflammation (swelling, heat, redness, and pain) and is used to treat certain forms of arthritis; skin, blood, kidney, eye, thyroid, and intestinal disorders (e.g., colitis); severe allergies, and asthma.
The dose pack contains 21 tablets and is taken as a tapering dose over six days. Six tablets are taken by mouth on day one, and you decrease by one tablet daily until you have completed the pack.
