Key points
- There is no known interaction between Zarbee's products and Dimetapp. They are considered safe to use together.
Thanks for reaching out! We've been getting a lot of questions regarding Zarbee's products recently, and are always more than happy to answer them.
First and foremost, I want to mention that there are several different Dimetapp products on the market, and they all contain different ingredients.
Nevertheless, Zarbee's Cough + Mucus does not contain any ingredients known to interact with any of the drugs contained in Dimetapp products (including Dimetapp Cold & Cough). They are considered safe to use together.
What Is In Zarbee's Cough + Mucus
Zarbee's Cough + Mucus contains the following ingredients:
- Dark Honey
- English Ivy Extract
- Ascorbic Acid
- Zinc Gluconate
- Water
- Citric Acid
- Grapefruit Seed Extract
- Natural Flavor
None of these ingredients have reported drug interactions and are generally considered to be safe to combine with over-the-counter medications. In fact, none of these are considered 'drug' products, which is way the labeling on Zarbee's Cough + Mucus says 'Supplement Facts' instead of 'Drug Facts'.
What Is In Dimetapp Cold & Cough?
Since you mentioned Dimetapp Cough, I am assuming you are referring to Dimetapp Cold & Cough. It contains:
- brompheniramine maleate (Antihistamine)
- dextromethorphan HBr (Cough Suppressant)
- phenylephrine HCl (Nasal Decongestant)
As mentioned, these drugs are considered safe with the ingredients in Zarbee's Cough + Mucus.
Final Words
Thanks again for reaching out! I hope your child starts to feel better soon.
