What happens
Increased exposure to minoxidil
Interaction Deep Dive
Etoricoxib inhibits human sulfotransferase activity (particularly that of SULT1E1 substrates), and increases serum ethinyl estradiol concentrations, a human sulfotransferase substrate. Therefore, coadministration of etoricoxib and minoxidil, another human sulfotransferase substrate, may also increase the exposure of minoxidil. Use caution if concurrently administration is required1.
Why it happens (mechanism)
Reduction in human sulfotransferase-mediated minoxidil metabolism by etoricoxib
