An increased risk of QT interval prolongation

Dolasetron has a dose-dependent effect on QT interval prolongation and has been associated with postmarketing reports of torsade de pointes¹. QT interval prolongation and postmarketing cases of torsade de pointes have also been reported with solifenacin. The concomitant use of solifenacin with other drugs that prolong the QT interval should be approached with caution as coadministration may result in additive effects on QT interval prolongation and an increased risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias, including torsade de pointes ². If coadministration is required, monitoring for QT interval prolongation may be warranted.
