Bog Bilberry + Pravastatin Sodium
Pravastatin Sodium brand name: Pravachol.
We found no known interaction between Bog Bilberry and Pravastatin Sodium in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Bog Bilberry and Pravastatin Sodium
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Pravastatin Sodium and Bog Bilberry in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Bog Bilberry at all — not against Pravastatin Sodium, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

About Bog Bilberry
What is Bog Bilberry?
- Antioxidant support
- Eye and vision health
- Circulation and blood vessel health
- General wellness
- Anti-inflammatory support
Bog bilberry is a wild blueberry-relative rich in antioxidant pigments called anthocyanins, and people use it much like its better-known cousin, the European bilberry. As a food it is generally safe, but there is little high-quality human research showing it treats any specific health condition. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Vaccinium uliginosum · Ericaceae · Berries (fruit); sometimes leaves · Fresh or dried berries, juice, jams, extracts, capsules, teas
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Bog Bilberry is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Bog Bilberry record says about it on its own.
Bog Bilberry: dosing
There is no established standard dose for bog bilberry as a supplement. As a food, you can simply enjoy the berries the way you would blueberries. If you choose a supplement, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.

About Pravastatin
What Is Pravastatin Used For?
Brand name: Pravachol
Pravastatin Sodium tablets are used alongside a cholesterol-lowering diet to treat high LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol), high triglycerides (blood fats), and abnormal cholesterol levels. They are approved for adults and for children ages 8 and older with a hereditary form of high cholesterol called heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH).
In people without known heart disease, pravastatin helps reduce the risk of heart attack and cardiovascular death. In people who already have coronary heart disease (CHD), it is used to reduce the risk of heart attack, coronary death, stroke, transient ischemic attack (TIA), and procedures to restore blood flow to the heart — and to slow the buildup of plaque in the arteries.

Pravastatin Sodium Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Pravastatin Sodium as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Bog Bilberry — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
