Chromotherapy and Omalizumab

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Omalizumab and Chromotherapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Chromotherapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Chromotherapy at all — not against Omalizumab, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Chromotherapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Omalizumab’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Chromotherapy. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Omalizumab’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you have Chromotherapy and take the medicine. 3 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Bone thinning Worth acting on
  • Wheezing Worth acting on
  • A severe allergic reaction Worth acting on
  • Pain in an arm or leg
  • Joint pain
  • Itching
  • Tiredness
  • Dizziness
  • A skin rash

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Omalizumab. Read the label on DailyMed › Chromotherapy’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Chromotherapy side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Chromotherapy has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Omalizumab page

“None of the 53 supplements on file for omalizumab (Xolair) carries a major rating, so this is a list to read with steady attention rather than alarm. Xolair treats allergic asthma and chronic hives by calming part of the immune system, and every entry here pulls the other way: these are immune-stimulating products, echinacea and astrag…”

About Chromotherapy

What is Chromotherapy?

  • Stress and relaxation
  • Mood and emotional balance
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Energy and general wellness
  • Pain or discomfort relief

Chromotherapy (color therapy) is an alternative practice that uses colored light or color exposure to try to improve health and mood. It is not a dietary supplement or herb, and there is very little high-quality scientific evidence that it treats any medical condition. It is generally low-risk as a relaxation tool, but it should not replace proven medical care.

Not applicable (chromotherapy is a light/color therapy, not a plant or supplement) · Colored light exposure, colored lamps or LED panels, colored glass or filters, sometimes paired with water, fabrics, or environment design

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Chromotherapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Chromotherapy record says about it on its own.

Chromotherapy: dosing

There is no standardized or proven "dose" for chromotherapy. Session length, color, and intensity vary widely between devices, practitioners, and traditions, and none has been scientifically established as effective. If you choose to try chromotherapy, follow the instructions that come with the device or the guidance of a qualified practitioner. Avoid staring directly into bright light sources, and stop if you feel any discomfort.

About Omalizumab Injection

What Is Omalizumab Injection Used For?

Brand name: Xolair

Xolair is used for several allergy-driven conditions. It treats moderate to severe persistent asthma in adults and children 6 and older whose symptoms aren't controlled by inhaled steroids alone and who test positive for a year-round airborne allergen. It is also used as an add-on maintenance treatment for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (ongoing sinus inflammation with polyp growths) in adults 18 and older who haven't responded well to nasal corticosteroids.

Xolair is also approved to reduce allergic reactions — including anaphylaxis — from accidental food exposure in adults and children aged 1 and older with IgE-mediated food allergy. It must be used alongside strict food avoidance, and it is not a substitute for emergency treatment like epinephrine. Finally, Xolair treats chronic spontaneous urticaria (persistent hives with no identified trigger) in adults and adolescents 12 and older who still have symptoms despite antihistamine treatment.
