Dymethazine Drug Interactions, Uses, Effectiveness, Safety & More
What is this page for?
First and foremost: how Dymethazine interacts with medications. The heart of this page is the interaction list — every drug Dymethazine is known to interact with, and how serious each one is.
But these pages have grown well beyond that into a full monograph — what Dymethazine is, what people use it for and how strong the evidence is, its safety and side effects, and answers to the questions we’re asked most — written and reviewed by the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases, not medical advice, and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What Severity, Likelihood & Evidence Mean
Severity — How Serious It Can Be
- Major. Clinically significant; generally best avoided, or used only under direct professional supervision.
- Moderate. May need monitoring, a dose adjustment, or separating the times you take each one.
- Minor. Generally not clinically significant, but still worth noting and mentioning to your pharmacist.
- No known interaction. Checked against our sources with nothing documented — not the same as proven safety.
Likelihood — How Well It’s Documented
- Likely. Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction
- Probable. Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- Possible. Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists
- Unlikely. Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
Where This Data Comes From
- Interaction records are evidence-graded and sourced from the Natural Medicines database (TRC Healthcare), the same reference used by pharmacists and hospitals.

Dymethazine: Uses, Safety & Side Effects
Dymethazine is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid (a so-called 'prohormone' or 'designer steroid'), not a true dietary supplement or herb. It carries serious health risks including liver damage and hormonal disruption, is banned in sports, and is not approved or recommended for use. We strongly advise against taking it.

Overview
Dymethazine is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid, not a plant, herb, or natural dietary supplement. It is a lab-made compound that has been sold as a 'prohormone' or 'designer steroid' in some bodybuilding and sports supplement products, often without clearly disclosing what it really is.
Chemically, Dymethazine is closely related to other man-made anabolic steroids. It was marketed mainly to people who want to build muscle or improve athletic performance. Because of safety concerns, products containing it have drawn warnings from regulators, and selling it as a supplement is illegal in many places.
It is important to understand that despite being found on supplement shelves in the past, Dymethazine behaves like a prescription-strength steroid in the body — with similar risks.
How it works
Like other anabolic-androgenic steroids, Dymethazine is thought to act on androgen receptors in muscle and other tissues. This can promote protein building in muscle, which is how steroids generally increase muscle size and strength.
Because it is a steroid, it can also affect the body's own hormone system, signaling the body to reduce its natural testosterone production. Much of what is 'known' about its mechanism is inferred from related steroids rather than from direct, high-quality studies on Dymethazine itself.

How to read these evidence grades
Natural Medicines’ 7-point scale. We show each rating’s label word-for-word.
For Dymethazine, current evidence isn’t strong enough to rate any specific use. The conditions it has been studied for are listed below.
Also studied for 7 conditions — evidence insufficient to rate

Safety & precautions
Dymethazine is not considered safe. Like other oral anabolic steroids, it can be toxic to the liver and may cause liver injury, especially with higher doses or longer use. It can also disrupt hormones and raise the risk of cardiovascular problems.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Anabolic steroids can harm a developing baby and disrupt hormones. Dymethazine should be avoided completely if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
People with liver disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prostate problems, or a history of hormone-sensitive cancers should not use it. Teenagers and young adults whose bodies are still developing are at particular risk. Because supplement labels may not list this ingredient honestly, you may be exposed without knowing it — always check products with a pharmacist.
Side effects
Reported and expected side effects of anabolic steroids like Dymethazine include:
- Liver damage (a key concern with oral steroids)
- Acne and oily skin
- Hair loss or unwanted hair growth
- Mood changes, irritability, or aggression
- Reduced natural testosterone, shrinking testicles, and reduced fertility
- Breast tissue growth in men (gynecomastia)
- Voice deepening and other masculinizing effects in women
- High blood pressure and worsened cholesterol
Some of these effects, such as voice changes in women, can be permanent. Severe liver problems and cardiovascular events are rare but serious risks. Stop use and seek medical care for symptoms like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, severe abdominal pain, or chest pain.
Dymethazine: Reported Adverse Effects
Documented safety reports on Dymethazine from the evidence-graded Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) database, shown word-for-word from the licensed record.
Orally, dymethazine is possibly unsafe. As an anabolic androgenic steroid, there is concern that it might cause serious side effects including stroke, kidney failure, and liver injury.
Myasthenia gravis Hepatic
There is a case of cholestatic jaundice with elevated liver enzymes, dark urine, clay stools, and pruritus in a 26-year-old male, likely related to the use of a product (Super DMZ Rx 2.0) containing methylstenbolone 10 mg and dymethazine 10 mg per capsule. The product was used at manufacturer-recommended doses of two capsules daily for up to one month. Liver enzyme levels gradually decreased after discontinuation. The specific role of dymethazine cannot be determined from this report.

Dosing
There is no established or recommended safe dose for Dymethazine, because it is not an approved medicine or a legitimate dietary supplement. We do not provide dosing for it.
Because it is an anabolic steroid with real health risks, the safest amount is none. If you are considering it or have already used it, please talk with a pharmacist or doctor about safer, legal ways to reach your fitness goals and about monitoring your health.
