Emotional Freedom Techniques and Posaconazole

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Posaconazole and Emotional Freedom Techniques in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Emotional Freedom Techniques alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Emotional Freedom Techniques at all — not against Posaconazole, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Emotional Freedom Techniques is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Posaconazole. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 15,719 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Posaconazole that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Emotional Freedom Techniques’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Emotional Freedom Techniques side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Emotional Freedom Techniques has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Posaconazole page

“All 17 supplements on this posaconazole (Noxafil) list interact the same basic way: they can change how much of the antifungal actually reaches your blood. Posaconazole prevents and treats dangerous fungal infections, often in people with weakened immune systems, so this is a list to take genuine care with.”

About Emotional Freedom Techniques

What is Emotional Freedom Techniques?

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression symptoms
  • Post-traumatic stress (PTSD)
  • Phobias and fears
  • Cravings and weight management
  • Chronic pain

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), often called 'tapping,' is a mind-body practice that combines tapping on acupressure points with focused statements about a problem. Early studies suggest it may help with anxiety, stress, and PTSD symptoms, but the research is still limited and many studies are small. It is generally low-risk, but it should not replace proven medical or mental health treatment.

Not applicable (a mind-body technique, not a plant or supplement) · Self-administered tapping sessions, guided sessions with a practitioner, apps, and online videos

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Emotional Freedom Techniques is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Emotional Freedom Techniques record says about it on its own.

Emotional Freedom Techniques: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for EFT because it is a technique, not a product you take. Sessions usually involve tapping through a set sequence of points one or more times while focusing on a specific problem, often lasting several minutes.People may use it once during a stressful moment or practice it regularly. There is no proven "right" number of sessions.

About Posaconazole

What Is Posaconazole Used For?

Brand name: Noxafil

Posaconazole is used to treat invasive aspergillosis (a serious mold infection that can spread through the body) in adults and certain pediatric patients, depending on the formulation and weight. It is also used to treat oropharyngeal candidiasis (OPC) — a yeast infection of the mouth and throat, including cases that have not responded to itraconazole and/or fluconazole — and this use is specific to the oral suspension in patients aged 13 and older.

Posaconazole is also used for prophylaxis (prevention) of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in people at high risk because their immune systems are severely compromised — such as stem cell transplant recipients with graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) or people with blood cancers who have low white blood cell counts from chemotherapy. The specific formulation approved for prevention varies by age and weight.
