Brand name: Signifor
Signifor (pasireotide subcutaneous injection) is used to treat Cushing's disease — a condition caused by a pituitary tumor that makes the body produce too much cortisol — in patients for whom pituitary surgery is not an option or did not cure the disease.
Signifor LAR (a long-acting intramuscular form of pasireotide) is approved to treat both acromegaly (a condition where the pituitary gland makes too much growth hormone) and Cushing's disease, in patients who have had an inadequate response to surgery or for whom surgery is not an option.
