Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Cablivi
Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Indian Snakeroot interacts with.
Indian snakeroot contains small amounts of the drug yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits platelet aggregation.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind: Cablivi (caplacizumab) already raises your bleeding risk on its own. It works by blocking a clotting protein (von Willebrand factor) so your platelets can't stick together as easily, which is exactly the point when treating aTTP. Anything else that nudges bleeding in the same direction is worth watching.
Indian snakeroot contains tiny amounts of yohimbine, and lab studies (not human studies) suggest yohimbine may make platelets a little less sticky too. So in theory, combining the two could mean more bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or longer-than-usual bleeding from cuts. This is theoretical and based only on test-tube data, so don't panic, but since you're on a serious medication for a serious condition, please run this supplement by your doctor or pharmacist before using it.

About Indian Snakeroot
What is Indian Snakeroot?
- High blood pressure
- Anxiety and stress
- Insomnia
- Agitation
- Fever (traditional use)
Indian snakeroot is a traditional Ayurvedic plant that contains reserpine, a compound with real blood-pressure-lowering and sedative effects. Because its potent alkaloids can cause serious side effects like depression and very low blood pressure, it should never be used without medical supervision. It is not a safe or simple home remedy, and many countries restrict its use.
About Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection
What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?
Brand name: Cablivi
-
Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
