ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Aspart
Insulin Aspart falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Indian Snakeroot interacts with.
Animal research shows that Indian snakeroot lowers blood glucose levels. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: insulin aspart (Fiasp) already does one job very well, it pushes your blood sugar down after meals. Indian snakeroot may nudge blood sugar a little lower too, at least that's what we've seen in animal studies. Stack those two together and the worry is that your sugar could drop further than you want, which is what we call hypoglycemia.
If that happened, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, confused, or get a pounding heart. I want to be honest though, this lower-blood-sugar effect has only been seen in animals, not in people, so it's a theoretical concern. Still, since both can lower glucose, please check your sugars closely and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Aspart page
“Every one of the 239 supplements listed for insulin aspart (Fiasp) touches the same thing the drug exists to manage, blood sugar, so this list warrants genuine care rather than a quick skim. About Indian Snakeroot
What is Indian Snakeroot?
- High blood pressure
- Anxiety and stress
- Insomnia
- Agitation
- Fever (traditional use)
Indian snakeroot is a traditional Ayurvedic plant that contains reserpine, a compound with real blood-pressure-lowering and sedative effects. Because its potent alkaloids can cause serious side effects like depression and very low blood pressure, it should never be used without medical supervision. It is not a safe or simple home remedy, and many countries restrict its use.
About Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection
What Is Insulin Aspart (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?
Brand name: Fiasp
Insulin aspart is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in people with diabetes mellitus. It is approved for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes in adults, and for diabetes mellitus in pediatric patients.
Insulin Aspart Protamine and Insulin Aspart Mix 70/30 is a pre-mixed product that combines a rapid-acting and an intermediate-acting insulin aspart. It is approved to improve blood sugar control in adult patients with diabetes mellitus. It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis, and because its ratio of rapid-acting to intermediate-acting insulin is fixed, it does not allow for separate mealtime versus background dose adjustments.
