Low Purine Diet and Tasimelteon
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Tasimelteon and Low Purine Diet in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Low Purine Diet alongside specific medications may be limited.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Low Purine Diet at all — not against Tasimelteon, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
Low Purine Diet is an eating pattern rather than something you take. Ask your pharmacist or doctor before changing how you eat while on a prescribed medicine: some medicines are dosed around meals, and a change in diet can change how they work. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tasimelteon page
“Tasimelteon (Hetlioz) resets the body clock in people with non-24-hour sleep-wake disorder, and the sleep aids they often reach for, melatonin and kava among them, sit on an interaction list that deserves real respect. Nine of the 218 ingredients on file rate major, mostly in two directions: sedatives like kava stack drowsiness onto a…”

Where does our data come from?
- Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Low Purine Diet is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
- Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Low Purine Diet reference on this page ↓
- Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Low Purine Diet and Tasimelteon records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
- What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.
About Low Purine Diet
What is Low Purine Diet?
- Gout management
- Lowering uric acid levels
- Preventing kidney stones (uric acid stones)
- Reducing gout flare-ups
A low purine diet is an eating plan that limits foods high in purines, which the body breaks down into uric acid. It is mainly used to help manage gout and certain kidney stones, often alongside medication. While it can lower uric acid somewhat, diet alone usually is not enough for most people with gout, so work with your doctor on a full treatment plan.
Dietary pattern (meal plan), not a supplement
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Low Purine Diet is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Low Purine Diet record says about it on its own.
Low Purine Diet: dosing
There is no fixed "dose" for a low purine diet because it is an eating pattern, not a pill. In general, the goal is to limit high-purine foods (organ meats, red meat, certain seafood, beer, and sugary drinks) while eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low-fat dairy.Drinking plenty of water and limiting alcohol are also key parts of the plan.
