Mantra Meditation and Deferiprone

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Deferiprone and Mantra Meditation in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Mantra Meditation alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Mantra Meditation at all — not against Deferiprone, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Mantra Meditation is a practice rather than something you take. Ask your care team whether the type and intensity you plan to practice are appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

What Deferiprone’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Mantra Meditation. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Deferiprone’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you practice Mantra Meditation and take the medicine. 3 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Anemia Worth acting on mentioned in 6.4% of FDA reports for Deferiprone
  • A low white blood cell count Worth acting on mentioned in 5.3% of FDA reports for Deferiprone
  • Liver problems Worth acting on
  • Increased appetite

Showing the 10 most notable of 18 label-listed effects — ranked by how unusual each one is across medicines generally, with serious effects weighted up.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Deferiprone. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 3,004 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Deferiprone that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Mantra Meditation’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Mantra Meditation side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Mantra Meditation has no side effects.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Deferiprone page

“Deferiprone (Ferriprox) pulls excess iron out of the body in conditions like thalassemia, and that job depends on the pill actually being absorbed. Every one of the 17 supplements flagged against it threatens that step, which is why this list warrants real vigilance rather than a shrug.”

Where does our data come from?
  • Source: the Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) clinical database — the evidence-graded professional reference for herb & supplement interactions. Mantra Meditation is not yet covered by that licensed database, so its write-up cites publicly available medical sources directly (see the references below).
  • Citation library: 103,510 references behind our interaction content, 65,311 of them resolved to verified PubMed/DOI sources. See every Mantra Meditation reference on this page ↓
  • Freshness: we automatically re-check this combination every week — this pair was last verified September 20, 2026. The Mantra Meditation and Deferiprone records this page draws on were last updated June 22, 2026.
  • What “no known interaction” means: no documented interaction in the sources above — not a guarantee of safety. Supplements are studied far less than prescription drugs, so we say exactly what the evidence supports, and nothing more.

About Mantra Meditation

What is Mantra Meditation?

  • Stress reduction
  • Anxiety
  • Relaxation and focus
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Blood pressure support
  • Spiritual or contemplative practice

Mantra meditation is a mind-body practice in which you silently or quietly repeat a word, sound, or phrase to calm the mind and reduce stress. It is generally very safe for most people and may help with stress, anxiety, and relaxation, though the quality of research varies. It is not a substitute for medical care, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist about any health condition you hope to manage.

Not applicable (a mind-body practice, not a plant or substance) · Silent or spoken repetition of a word, sound, or phrase; guided audio; group or individual practice; programs such as Transcendental Meditation

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Mantra Meditation is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Mantra Meditation record says about it on its own.

Mantra Meditation: dosing

There is no standardized "dose" for mantra meditation. Many programs and teachers suggest practicing for about 10 to 20 minutes once or twice a day, but you can start with just a few minutes and build up as you feel comfortable.Consistency tends to matter more than length—practicing a little each day is often more helpful than one long session now and then.

About Deferiprone

What Is Deferiprone Used For?

Brand name: Ferriprox

Deferiprone is used to remove excess iron that builds up in the body from repeated blood transfusions — a condition called transfusional iron overload. Too much iron in the body can damage organs over time, so deferiprone works to capture and remove it.

Ferriprox oral solution is approved for adults and children 3 years and older with thalassemia syndromes, sickle cell disease, or other anemias. Ferriprox tablets are approved for adults and children 8 years and older with the same conditions. Deferiprone tablets (generic) are approved for adult patients with thalassemia syndromes when their current iron-removal treatment is not working well enough.

Most-Reported Side Effects for Deferiprone

From FAERS, the FDA’s public side-effect reporting system (3,004 reports, all brands). Reports are voluntary and are not proof the drug caused the effect.
