When used orally. Prohormones can be converted to active hormones in the body and cause adverse effects such as menstrual irregularities, infertility, hair loss, and acne. Prohormones have also been associated with hepatotoxicity and increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies warn that dietary supplements containing prohormones are dangerous. Avoid using.

Some Linaclotide Products Have a Food Rule — Mentabolan Should Not Break It
At least one FDA label for a product containing Linaclotide says to take it on an empty stomach. Most supplements — Mentabolan included — are taken with a meal, so the easy mistake is swallowing both together at breakfast. Where that rule applies, keep Linaclotide on its own and move Mentabolan to a meal later in the day.

Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Linaclotide products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. Linzess (linaclotide) treats three related conditions that cause difficult, infrequent bowel movements. In adults, it is approved for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) and chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC — ongoing constipation with no identified cause). In children ages 7 and older, Linzess is approved for IBS-C. In children ages 2 and older, Linzess is approved for functional constipation (FC).
