About Apomorphine Injection
What Is Apomorphine Injection Used For?
Brand names: Uprima, Apokyn, APO-go, APO-go Pen, APO-go PFS
Apomorphine hydrochloride injection is used for the acute, intermittent treatment of hypomobility (reduced ability to move) during 'off' episodes in advanced Parkinson's disease. These include both 'end-of-dose wearing off' (when a dose of another Parkinson's medication stops working before the next one is due) and unpredictable 'on/off' episodes.
It is studied and used as an add-on therapy alongside other Parkinson's medications. The brands Apokyn, Apomorphine Hydrochloride injection, and Onapgo are all subcutaneous (under-the-skin) formulations approved for this use.
