What Is Butenafine Used For?

Butenafine treats common fungal skin infections. Products containing butenafine — including Athletes Foot, Athletes Foot Ultra, Butenafine Hydrochloride, Butenafine Hydrochloride 1%, Jock Itch, and Jock Itch Cream — cure most cases of athlete's foot (between the toes), jock itch, and ringworm. They also relieve the itching, burning, cracking, and scaling that come with these infections.
For athlete's foot, these products work between the toes. Effectiveness on the bottom or sides of the foot is not established. Jock Itch and Jock Itch Cream are specifically indicated for jock itch and its associated symptoms.
