Methylstenbolone Drug Interactions, Uses, Effectiveness, Safety & More
What is this page for?
First and foremost: how Methylstenbolone interacts with medications. The heart of this page is the interaction list — every drug Methylstenbolone is known to interact with, and how serious each one is.
But these pages have grown well beyond that into a full monograph — what Methylstenbolone is, what people use it for and how strong the evidence is, its safety and side effects, and answers to the questions we’re asked most — written and reviewed by the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases, not medical advice, and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

What Severity, Likelihood & Evidence Mean
Severity — How Serious It Can Be
- Major. Clinically significant; generally best avoided, or used only under direct professional supervision.
- Moderate. May need monitoring, a dose adjustment, or separating the times you take each one.
- Minor. Generally not clinically significant, but still worth noting and mentioning to your pharmacist.
- No known interaction. Checked against our sources with nothing documented — not the same as proven safety.
Likelihood — How Well It’s Documented
- Likely. Well-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction
- Probable. Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- Possible. Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists
- Unlikely. Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
Where This Data Comes From
- Interaction records are evidence-graded and sourced from the Natural Medicines database (TRC Healthcare), the same reference used by pharmacists and hospitals.

Methylstenbolone: Uses, Safety & Side Effects
Methylstenbolone is a synthetic, oral anabolic-androgenic steroid that has been sold in some 'prosteroid' or 'designer supplement' products, not a natural herb. It is not an approved or safe dietary supplement, it carries real risks including serious liver damage, and it is banned in sports and prohibited in many countries. We strongly recommend against using it and urge you to speak with a doctor or pharmacist first.

Overview
Methylstenbolone is not an herb or a natural plant extract. It is a man-made (synthetic) anabolic-androgenic steroid, meaning it is a lab-created chemical that acts like the hormone testosterone. It has been sold illegally in some over-the-counter products marketed to bodybuilders as a 'prohormone,' 'designer steroid,' or muscle-building supplement.
Because it has a chemical change (a methyl group) that lets it survive being taken by mouth, it was made into pills. Products containing methylstenbolone have appeared on the supplement market even though it is not an approved drug or a legitimate dietary supplement ingredient. Regulators such as the U.S. FDA have warned against these kinds of products.
People who use it are usually trying to gain muscle and strength quickly. It is important to understand that 'supplement' marketing does not make a substance safe or legal.
How it works
Methylstenbolone is designed to act like testosterone. It binds to androgen receptors in the body, which can signal muscle cells to grow and increase protein building. This is the same general way other anabolic steroids work.
The added 'methyl' part of its structure (it is what is called a 17-alpha-alkylated steroid) lets it survive digestion so it can be taken as a pill. Unfortunately, this same chemical feature is strongly linked to liver toxicity. Much of what is 'known' about this compound comes from its chemical similarity to other steroids rather than from careful human studies.

Safety & precautions
This compound is considered unsafe and should be avoided. As an oral anabolic steroid, it can cause serious harm, including liver damage, unhealthy cholesterol changes, high blood pressure, and disruption of your body's natural hormones.
Who should especially avoid it: anyone with liver, heart, or kidney problems; people with a history of hormone-sensitive conditions; teenagers and young adults whose bodies are still developing; and anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
Pregnancy: Avoid completely. Anabolic steroids can cause birth defects and harm a developing baby. Breastfeeding: Avoid completely, since the drug could pass to the infant and cause harm. Because methylstenbolone is sold in unregulated products, you also cannot be sure what is actually in the bottle. Always talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using any product like this.
Side effects
Reported and expected side effects of oral anabolic steroids like methylstenbolone include:
- Liver injury, sometimes severe, including jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes) and dangerous bile flow problems
- Unhealthy cholesterol changes (lower 'good' HDL, higher 'bad' LDL)
- High blood pressure and increased risk of heart problems
- Acne, oily skin, and hair loss
- Hormone disruption: in men, shrinking testicles, low natural testosterone, and breast tissue growth; in women, deepening voice, facial hair, and menstrual changes
- Mood changes, irritability, and aggression
Some of these effects, especially liver and heart harm and masculinizing changes in women, can be serious or long-lasting. Seek medical care right away if you notice yellowing skin, dark urine, severe abdominal pain, or chest symptoms.
Methylstenbolone: Reported Adverse Effects
Documented safety reports on Methylstenbolone from the evidence-graded Natural Medicines (TRC Healthcare) database, shown word-for-word from the licensed record.
Orally, methylstenbolone is possibly unsafe. As an anabolic androgenic steroid, there is concern that it might cause serious side effects including heart disease and liver injury.
Myasthenia gravis Hepatic
There is a case of cholestatic jaundice with elevated liver enzymes, dark urine, clay stools, and pruritus in a 26-year-old male, likely related to the use of a product (Super DMZ Rx 2.0) containing methylstenbolone 10 mg and dymethazine 10 mg per capsule. The product was used at manufacturer-recommended doses of two capsules daily for up to 1 month. Liver enzyme levels gradually decreased after discontinuation. The specific role of methylstenbolone cannot be determined from this report.

Dosing
There is no established, safe, or approved dose for methylstenbolone. It is not a recognized medicine or legitimate dietary supplement, so no medical dosing guidance exists.
We will not provide dosing amounts because doing so could encourage harmful use. If you have taken a product that contains methylstenbolone, stop and talk with a healthcare professional. Never assume a product is safe just because it is sold online or in a store.
