Boron is likely effective for treating boron deficiency. It's rated possibly effective for vaginal yeast infections (candidiasis) and radiation dermatitis (skin damage from radiation therapy).
For athletic performance, the evidence suggests it's likely ineffective — so don't expect a boost in strength or endurance from this supplement.
How safe is it?

At the 30 mg dose in this product, boron is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects when taken by mouth are loss of appetite, skin rashes, redness, and indigestion.
Vaginal use can cause burning and pain. However, boron can become toxic at high doses.
Chronic daily use of very large amounts (1 gram daily of boric acid or 25 grams daily of boric tartrate) can cause skin problems and hair loss. Acute poisoning from larger doses can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, shock.
Because of the risk at high doses, avoid boron supplements during pregnancy — high amounts may harm the fetus — and while breastfeeding, where safety data is limited. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
