What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking BioBeet Juice against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of BioBeet Juice by Triquetra
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Partial disclosure
BioBeet Juice contains 2 active ingredients: beet root juice powder and Total Protein. The beet is the star here — it's the whole juice from the beet plant, concentrated into powder form and is what delivers the nitrates and pigments linked to athletic and muscle-recovery benefits.
The product also includes silica and organic beet juice powder as inactive ingredients (the everyday fillers that help make the powder easier to take).
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Beet root juice powder is possibly effective for boosting athletic performance and reducing exercise-induced muscle soreness — the evidence is there, though not yet definitive. For other uses listed in our data — chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cholesterol (dyslipidemia), and brain function — either the evidence isn't strong enough to say whether it works, or preliminary studies suggest it may not help.
If you're considering this mainly for sports recovery or endurance, the case is more solid than if you're looking at it for other purposes.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Beet as a food is eaten widely and is generally well tolerated by most adults. However, this is a concentrated supplement, and safety data on concentrated beet supplements is limited — so use it cautiously and watch how you respond.
The most common side effects are harmless: red or dark stools and red urine (the beet pigment just passes through). In rare cases, very large amounts of beet have caused low blood calcium (hypocalcemia) and kidney damage.
One case report described black stools and stomach upset in an older person on blood thinners who took beet pills; the risk of serious bleeding was judged low, but it's worth knowing if you take those medications. We don't have enough data on whether this product is safe during lactation — talk with your pharmacist or doctor if you're breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking BioBeet Juice, check any medications metabolized by CYP3A4 — a large group that includes certain statins, some blood pressure drugs, and immunosuppressants (Moderate-severity interaction). Also double-check CYP1A2 substrates like some antidepressants, and any blood pressure medications you're on (Minor-severity interactions).
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glancePartially disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're an athlete or active person wanting to boost performance or recovery, beet juice powder has some solid evidence behind it. Anyone on liver-metabolized medications — especially CYP3A4 substrates like certain statins or blood pressure drugs — needs to check their exact prescriptions before starting.
If you're on blood thinners, anticoagulants, or blood pressure drugs, talk to your pharmacist first; concentrated beet supplements haven't been studied long-term or extensively in these settings.

BioBeet Juice by Triquetra Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
BioBeet Juice by Triquetra contains beet root juice powder, which interacts with a significant number of medications.
The most serious concern is with drugs metabolized by the liver enzyme CYP3A4 — beet may increase their levels in your bloodstream, potentially causing overdose-like effects. This is a Moderate-severity interaction, and it affects a very large group of common medications including certain statins, some blood pressure drugs, and immunosuppressants.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Beet also theoretically decreases levels of drugs broken down by the CYP1A2 enzyme (a Minor-severity interaction), which includes some antidepressants and pain relievers. Additionally, because beet contains naturally occurring nitrates that relax blood vessels, there's a Minor-severity interaction with blood pressure medications — though one clinical study found no significant effect, other small studies suggest beet may lower blood pressure further when combined with these drugs.
We could not check Total Protein for interactions — we hold no data on that ingredient. Altogether, these interactions span 850 individual medications.

Beet root juice powder
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that betanin, the major pigment in beet, competitively inhibits CYP3A4 in a dose-dependent manner similarly to strong CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Beet and beetroot contain nitrates, which can cause vasodilation, potentially leading to lower blood pressure. However, a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition using concentrated beetroot juice found no significant impact on blood pressure or heart rate in different age groups. Other small clinical studies suggest that while beet consumption might transiently lower blood pressure due to vessel dilation, there's no consistent evidence of a lasting effect. Overall, the theoretical risk of reduced blood pressure due to beet's nitrate content exists, but studies generally indicate a low and temporary impact rather than a sustained decrease.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, beet might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that beet induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
