Biostress-B contains four active ingredients. Rice Bran is a grain byproduct high in fiber and phytonutrients.
Thiamine Pyrophosphate is a form of vitamin B1, essential for energy metabolism and nerve function. Wheat Germ is the nutrient-dense core of wheat kernels.
Primary Yeast is included, though our data on it is limited. The tablet also contains inactive ingredients — DiCalcium Phosphate, Wood Cellulose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Magnesium Stearate, and Stearic Acid — which are binders, fillers, and capsule materials used to hold the tablet together.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Rice Bran shows possibly effective evidence for managing high cholesterol and related blood-fat problems (dyslipidemia), though it was rated possibly ineffective for colorectal cancer. The evidence for hair loss (alopecia areata) is insufficient to rate.
Thiamine is effective for treating thiamine deficiency and Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome (a serious neurological condition from B1 lack). It's possibly effective for period pain (dysmenorrhea), but possibly ineffective as a mosquito repellent or for heart failure.
For the other ingredients, the evidence in our data isn't established — the facts don't show effectiveness ratings for Primary Yeast, and Wheat Germ's evidence for the uses listed is insufficient to rate.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Rice Bran is likely safe during pregnancy and lactation. Taken orally, it's generally well tolerated, though increasing bran intake can cause temporary belly discomfort, gas, and irregular bowel habits in the first few weeks.
Rarely, rice bran can trigger allergic reactions including hives, swelling, wheezing, itching, and cough; anaphylaxis has been reported. Thiamine is also likely safe in pregnancy and lactation when used at recommended amounts under your provider's guidance; it's very safe by mouth in normal doses, though parenteral (injected) forms rarely cause allergic reactions.
Wheat Germ is less clear on safety — the data states safety is not established, and raw wheat products may carry contamination risk. Since wheat is a major food allergen in the United States, it can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
Common side effects from wheat germ include nausea, loss of appetite, and constipation.

Wheat Germ
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking wheatgrass with antidiabetes drugs might lower blood glucose levels and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that taking wheatgrass stimulates the release of insulin from beta-cells and lowers blood glucose.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, wheatgrass might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that wheatgrass induces CYP1A2 enzymes.
Thiamine Pyrophosphate
Trimethoprim (Proloprim)
Trimethoprim might increase blood levels of thiamine.
In vitro, animal, and clinical research suggest that trimethoprim inhibits intestinal thiamine transporter ThTR-2, hepatic transporter OCT1, and renal transporters OCT2, MATE1, and MATE2, resulting in paradoxically increased thiamine plasma concentrations.
